Vision: POETS seeks to attract and support the best and most diverse talent from both the STEM workforce and the STEM pipeline. These efforts enhance our research and educational efforts while laying the groundwork for a continuous flow of talent to achieve our mission.

Mission: To build and leverage a diverse and inclusive workforce and workplace by bringing together bright, innovative, and skilled members from academia, industry, and government and educating, training and supporting our diverse members.

This requires all members to do their part. Management must possess diversity and inclusion competencies to lead and manage an engaged workforce. Others must treat their colleagues with respect by listening to different viewpoints, opinions, thoughts and ideas and embracing a culture of inclusion.
